Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh confirmed that they have encountered and killed two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in a gun battle carried out by the security forces in Nawa Kadal locality of Srinagar on Monday night. In the midnight operation, officers from both state police department and the Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) gunned down Junaid Ashraf Khan, the youngest son of Hurriyat's Chairman Mohammed Ashraf Khan and Tariq Ahmed Sheikh, who reportedly joined the terrorist group in March.
