Strides Pharma Science Limited, formerly known as Strides Shasun Limited is a pharmaceutical company founded in 1990 with headquarters in Bangalore, India. The company's Founder and Non-Executive Chairman, Arun Kumar confirmed on Thursday that they have obtained regulatory approval from the Drug Controller General of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization of India to begin clinical trials of their newest antiviral favipiravir drug, that could possibly help in treatment of COVID-19 infected patients. Back in April, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals with headquarters in Mumbai had also received approval to conduct favipiravir trials in the country, who expects the results sometime in late-July or early-August.
